Before you decide to enroll, take the opportunity to carefully read and understand what is included in 3-week comprehensive course.

COURSE CONTENT:

Our comprehensive courses will prepare you for all Technical Tasks, Skilled OSCEs,  Communication OSCEs and Mock Exams. 

COMMUNICATION OSCE:

Communication OSCE Premium Includes:

Upon enrollment, access to the Course Content via the Student Portal is provided immediately once the Verification Process is completed and payment has been made.

3. Role Play Sessions

The Premium Communication OSCE course includes 10 role plays, divided into five 1-hour one-on-one sessions with mentors, with 2 role plays per session. Students can also volunteer for additional group role plays during the live classes; however, booked group role plays will not count toward the 10 role plays included in the course. 

To schedule your one-on-one role plays, please provide your exam dates to the admin team. The team will contact you to coordinate bookings based on the dates provided. Once dates are offered, you will have 24 hours to confirm them before making them available to other students. Missed sessions due to a lack of confirmation will not be eligible for refunds.

Please Note: The number of group role plays available will depend on the timing of your enrollment and the slots available. Group role plays are a valuable opportunity for practice but do not count toward the 10 one-on-one role plays included in the course.

TECHNICAL COURSE:

TECHNICAL TRAINING:

Course comprises of all tasks according to the rubrics provided by Australian Dental Council (ADC):

  • Preparation of tooth/teeth for indirect restorations (PFM)
  • Temporization by provisional crown for the prepared PFM
  • Preparation of a carious tooth/teeth 
  • Endodontic access cavity preparation 
  • Restoration of prepared tooth/teeth with Amalgam restoration 
  • Restoration of prepared tooth/teeth with Resin Composite

Scheduling and Booking Process

  • Before making a payment, please contact our administration team to confirm availability for booking, as there is limited seating available.
  • Your complete 3-week technical course is booked as follows:
    Week 1: Mon-Fri
    Skilled OSCE - Saturday
    Week 2: Mon-Fri
    Week 3: Mon-Thurs
    Technical Mock: Friday or Saturday
    Clinical Mock: Friday or Saturday 

    We highly recommend scheduling in advance as our available spots are limited and tend to fill up quickly.
  • It is highly recommended to schedule the first 10 Days of the Technical Tasks portion over consecutive two weeks in order to enhance your learning and overall experience.
  • You have the flexibility to allocate your 14-day Technical Tasks schedule across different weeks according to your preference. For example, you may choose to complete 9 days in one week and the remaining 5 days at a later date, ideally scheduling them with your mock exams approximately 4-6 weeks before your Part-2 exam. This option empowers you to customize your schedule based on your availability and personal preferences.

  • Unfortunately, we do not provide the option to schedule the course on one day per week basis, or to break it down to less than 4 days.

SKILLED OSCE:

The Skilled OSCE Course is an on-site course that spans a full day, encompassing demonstrations, practice opportunities, and assessments conducted by our on-site mentor for all Skilled OSCE tasks.

COURSE CONTENT

  • The initial half of the day will feature demonstrations of the designated tasks. Subsequently, you will have dedicated time for practice before our on-site mentor assesses your performance.
    - Application of Rubber Dams
    - Application of Fissure Sealant 
    - Extraction 
    - Using hand instrument (Gracey Curette) for Periodontal debridement
    - Administering Local Anesthesia 
    - CPR Emergency Response 
    - Syncope Management
    - Matrix Band Placement 
    - Capturing Intraoral Radiographs and Analyzing with VistaScan 
    - Infection Control
  • The Skilled OSCE courses are scheduled on alternate Saturdays

TECHNICAL MOCK EXAM:

The Technical Mock Exam replicates ADC exam conditions with on-site Technical assessments. Our setup mirrors the ADC exam environment. 

Scheduling and Booking Process:

  • The 1-day mock exam is divided as follows:
    Friday - Technical Exam (All 6 technical tasks under strict infection control protocols.)
    We only have 5 seats available every fortnight

Clinical Mock Exam

The Clinical Mock Exam replicates ADC exam conditions for the Skilled & Communication. 

Scheduling and Booking Process:

  • The 1-day mock exam is divided as follows:
    Friday/Saturday - Clinical Exam (6 communication tasks & 4 Skilled Tasks)
    We only have 5 seats available every fortnight

Additional Information:

  • You will need to be at the academy by 8:45am for registration and orientation.
  • It is a full day course; 8:45am-5pm (AEST)
  • We have recently made changes to our mock exam offerings. Please be advised that we now only offer the Technical Mock Exam.
